For the 2010 range, as Imperivm Snowboards art director, i really wanted to collaborate with the best so i decided to hit one of my favorite artists, Mike Thompson. You probably all unconsciously know the work of this painting true master, he created maybe the most incredible and powerful designs for Ecko Unlimited where he was art director in the late 90s. Mike is not only an amazing artist, he is also an easy-going and humble personality. We discussed a bit about the project direction and were quickly both agree to make this board a blaxploitation anthem. Mike just wanted that i dealt with the type treatments part, i had a double challenge, to do justice to Mike's talent and respect the blaxploitation graphical code and flavors. I decided to turn that board into a movie poster, it would have a title and a catchline... That's how the following sentence crossed my mind:
